Lavuxate D/S
Amoxycillin 200mg + Potassium Clavulanate 28mg Dry Syrup
Indication
Lavuxate Dry Syrup is a combination antibiotic used widely in the treatment of various bacterial infections. This combination enhances the effectiveness of amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, by including clavulanic acid, which inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by certain bacteria that can deactivate amoxicillin. Lavuxate Dry Syrup, also known as Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets IP, are specifically formulated with Amoxicillin 200 mg + Clavulanic acid 28 mg in each 5 ml contain.
This medication is indicated for the short-term treatment of a variety of infections caused by susceptible bacteria. These include infections of the respiratory tract such as sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It is also effective in treating infections of the genito-urinary tract, which include urinary tract infections (UTIs) and infections of the kidneys, bladder, and other parts of the urinary system.
Additionally, Lavuxate Dry Syrup is used to manage skin infections, which may include cellulitis, impetigo, and wound infections. It is also prescribed for bone infections, known as osteomyelitis, helping to eradicate the bacterial cause and prevent complications. Dental infections, including tooth abscesses, are another area where this antibiotic combination is beneficial, reducing pain and preventing the spread of infection.
The inclusion of clavulanic acid in this combination is crucial as it extends the spectrum of amoxicillin, making it effective against bacteria that produce beta-lactamase enzymes. These enzymes can break down amoxicillin and render it ineffective, but clavulanic acid neutralizes this resistance mechanism, allowing amoxicillin to work effectively.
In clinical use, amoxycillin / amoxicillin 200.0 mg + clavulanic acid 28.0 mg dry sryup are generally well-tolerated, but like all antibiotics, they should be used as prescribed to avoid the development of resistance. Patients should complete the entire course of the medication even if they feel better, to ensure the infection is fully eradicated. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea, and, in some cases, allergic reactions.
Lavuxate Dry Syrup is a combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid, designed to effectively treat a wide range of bacterial infections. This formulation works by inhibiting bacterial growth and enhancing antibiotic efficacy, making it suitable for pediatric use under medical supervision. To ensure safety and optimal results, the syrup should be administered exactly as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Proper dosage and adherence to treatment duration are essential for achieving the best therapeutic outcomes.
Overall, Lavuxate Dry Syrup are a versatile and potent option for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections, ensuring comprehensive management and helping to prevent the spread of resistant bacterial strains.
